We are seeking a qualified Accountant or an experienced Senior Finance Officer to join our dynamic Finance team. In this key role, you will work closely with the Corporate Services Manager and stakeholders across the organisation to support sound financial management, drive continuous improvement, and contribute to the ongoing success of our diverse and growing Health Service.

This is a permanent position offered at 0.8 EFT (64 hours per fortnight). We are a flexible workplace and, for the right candidate, will consider increasing the appointment to 0.9-1.0 EFT. Applicants seeking a higher EFT are encouraged to clearly state this in their application.

Tallangatta Health Service is a 61 bed, small rural public health service providing a mix of acute, sub-acute, aged care residential, and community services to Tallangatta and the surrounding district. We pride ourselves on being a consumer-focused progressive provider of care to our community, patients and residents with a multidisciplinary focus.

Key Selection Criteria 

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or Commerce, or equivalent finance experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial management, budgeting, reporting and forecasting.
  • Strong knowledge of financial systems, accounting processes and advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience across core finance functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets and general ledger management.
  • Well developed analytical, problem solving and financial reporting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Sound understanding of financial governance, compliance requirements and internal controls.
