About the Role

The primary role of an Environmental Services Assistant is to ensure environments across the Health Service are clean and safe. This includes, but is not limited to, Residential Aged Care units, wards, administrative spaces and common areas.

Daily tasks are completed in line with duty list/ schedules and may include vacuuming, mopping, disinfecting surfaces, restocking consumables and laundry tasks (as required).

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering high-quality, person-centered cleaning services.
  • Completing cleaning tasks in line with duty lists and schedules.
  • Following health, safety, food hygiene and cleaning standards, including safe chemical handling and Material Safety Data Sheets requirements.
  • Promote and comply with THS Infection Control Policies, Department of Health Guidelines and Australian Standards.
  • Monitor records, practices, chemical storage and documentation to ensure regulatory compliance.

We are seeking staff to join us on a casual basis. Details include:

  • Working on a 7-day roster from Monday to Sunday.
  • There are day and afternoon shifts with hours of work between 7:00 am and 8:00 pm.
  • Renumeration is in line with the Victorian Public Sector Health and Allied Services, Managers and Administrative Workers (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement with range of $26- $28/hr plus 25% casual loading.
  • Employee onboarding, training and orientation program

All appointments are made subject to the required security screening including National Criminal History, NDIS Worker Screening checks and an immunisation status appropriate to the role.
