About the role
Tallangatta Health Service is seeking an experienced Cook to help deliver high quality, safe and nutritious meals for consumers across our clinical and aged care services.
Reporting to the Catering coordinator, you will contribute to the preparation of fresh, wholesome meals to help create a positive dining experience for our consumers.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Prepare, cook and present high quality meals in line with standard recipes and dietary requirements
- Ensure compliance with food safety, allergen management and infection control standards
- Support cook-chill food production processes and texture modified diets (IDDSI)
- Assist with ordering, stock control, storage and minimising food waste
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, utensils and work areas
This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in delivering quality food, values teamwork, and is committed to safety and continuous improvement.
This is a permanent part time position offering:
- Minimum 32 hours per fortnight (4 x 8hr shifts)
- Alternating weekend roster
This is an onsite role, located in Tallangatta, Vic.
What you will bring:
- Certificate III Commercial Cookery or Chef Qualifications
- Food Safety Supervisors Certificate
- Demonstrated relevant skills and experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an attention to detail
- Health or aged care experience cooking experience (beneficial but not mandatory)
