About the role
We are seeking a highly experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse who is ready to step into a Nurse Practitioner Candidate role and undertake the clinical and academic development required to achieve endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner.
In this supported learning role, you will work closely alongside our experienced team of General Practitioners and our existing Nurse Practitioner, who will provide guidance, mentorship, and clinical supervision as you build confidence in advanced practice. You will be encouraged and supported to grow your skills in advanced clinical assessment, clinical reasoning, and evidence-based decision-making within a busy primary health care environment.
You will bring strong clinical experience and a genuine commitment to patient-centred care, along with an ability to contribute positively to team culture. While you develop your advanced practice capabilities, you will also play an important role in supporting and mentoring others within the nursing team, sharing your knowledge and contributing to a collaborative and learning-focused workplace.
This role is firmly grounded in community focused primary health care. About you
You are passionate about health care in a rural setting, motivated to enhance the wellbeing of others and committed to professional development.
You will also meet the following criteria;
- Registered as a Registered Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Upon commencement of the position be able to demonstrate acceptance into an NMBA approved Master’s program of study leading to Nurse Practitioner endorsement, or commitment to enroll
- Australian citizen or permanent resident
- Demonstrated commitment to person-centred care.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong time management and problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to continuous improvement.
Successful candidates will be expected to commit to working as a Nurse Practitioner within the Victorian public health system for a minimum of two years following endorsement.
All appointments are made subject to the required security screening including National Criminal History, Vic Working with Children and an immunisation status appropriate to the role.
