An exciting opportunity exists with the Central Queensland Region State Schooling Support Team, for the Regional based position of Principal Advisor Mental Health.
This position can be based at various locations across the CQ region or work remotely with flexibility outside of CQR, with some expectation to deliver face-to-face service as negotiated.
This temporary vacancy is available as soon as possible until 25 June 2021, unless otherwise determined.
About the Opportunity:
As the Principal Advisor, Mental Health you will:
- Support high quality and effective approaches to mental health in state schools in the region, ensuring that the outcomes are aligned to, and supportive of, the department’s agenda for improvement in schools.
- Provide high level strategic advice to senior officers of the department and other key stakeholders on issues relevant to the specific accountabilities of the role.
About the Role:
As Principal Advisor, Mental Health you will have responsibility for the following:
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation of State Schools Division priorities for all students in state schools.
- Support the Regional Director and Assistant Regional Directors to build inclusive, safe and supportive learning environments in Queensland state schools.
- Provide high level advice and support to principals to lead an inclusive, safe and supportive learning environment.
- Support the development and implementation of whole-of-school approaches to social and emotional learning programs.
- Build staff knowledge, responsiveness and capacity in regards to mental health and wellbeing and provide leadership to enhance schools’ capability to integrate social and emotional wellbeing across all school activities and the curriculum.
- Support school leadership teams to work collaboratively to create environments that enhance the engagement of all students, including those students who are most at risk of mental health issues, disengagement, suspension and cancellation of enrolment.
