Reporting to the Director, Regional Network, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining effective networks, consultation, negotiation and liaison with key stakeholders to deliver export advisory services in partnership with Austrade, through the TradeStart network to assist export ready businesses within the Mackay region.Additional information on the TradeStart Network is available on the Austrade website https://www.austrade.gov.au/Australian/How-Austrade-can-help/Trade-services/TradeStart.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Provide practical export advice to businesses in the region using your own experience and the networks available to you.
- Research and analyse regional export (business and industry) opportunities, identifying niche markets across the world, developing planning activities and strategies to deliver on regional and state-wide trade and investment priorities.
- Lead and influence key stakeholders to develop industry and market development opportunities, by providing high quality specialist advice to assist Queensland companies succeed in export markets.
- Develop and foster effective relationships with key stakeholders in the Mackay, Isaac and Whitsunday regions as well as across local, state and federal agencies, industry to continue to build commitment to long term growth.
- Represent TIQ on inter-departmental, national and industry committees and present and participate in key government and business forums to identify investment and export opportunities.
- Liaise with TIQ's overseas and Brisbane-based stakeholders to examine the supply and demand for various products and services in other countries and major regions to identify trade and investment opportunities within your region.
- Provide and update opportunity-specific information using TIQ's CRM and other protocols to enable effective delivery of TIQ's programs, initiatives and services, and regularly reporting business outcomes to senior management.
- Prepare policy papers, briefs and reports regarding investment and export opportunities, including potential issues and concern for Queensland exporters. Provide recommended solutions to proactively resolve arising matters.
- Implement State and where relevant, Australian Government trade and investment programs and initiatives in the region, including the tailoring of key messages for the regional audience.
- Work with the Director to achieve regional outcomes and contribute to TIQ's regional network yearly planning, budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Support the wider TIQ regional network team in fostering an environment that values performance, customer service, continuous improvement and innovation in the delivery of high-quality services.
This role may require additional duties to be completed as directed.
