About the Role
As the Integrated Assurance Lead, you will play a critical role in implementing, integrating, and continuously improving the Sydney Water Assurance Framework. You will lead delivery of the annual assurance program, providing objective assessment of controls, ensuring compliance with management system standards and obligations requirements, and driving continuous improvement across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Collaborate with risk and control owners to develop, implement and monitor the enterprise‑level assurance plan.
- Lead and coordinate assurance activities as per the annual assurance plan.
- Produce high‑quality assurance reports for senior leaders.
- Engage with relevant stakeholders to identify and document corrective actions to address the root causes of assurance findings.
- Monitor and report on assurance findings and associated actions, escalating when deadlines may not be met.
- Facilitate continual improvement of the Assurance Framework and maintain assurance tools, templates and processes.
- Support and uplift capability for business areas responsible for assurance activities.
- Advise on implementation of assurance requirements in relevant business areas
- Manage external auditors
- Align 1st and 2nd line assurance approaches to streamline processes.
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering, science, business or a related field.
- Exemplar Global AU & TL auditing certifications (Management Systems Auditing + Leading Audit Teams).
- Experience delivering and managing audits and analysing performance to drive business improvement.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all organisational levels.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent conceptual and critical thinking skills with the ability to solve practical problems
- Ability to manage competing requirements and meet strict deadlines in a high-volume work environment
- Ability to evaluate and improve the performance of management systems and processes in relation to meeting business objectives and priorities
- Experience with ISO 55001 asset management systems or water quality management systems is highly desirable.
