Senior Performance Analyst

• Temporary Opportunity until February 2026! (Maternity Leave Cover).

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Senior Performance Analyst to conduct analysis and provide advice on regulatory, economic, pricing, and competition issues. This role is essential in supporting Sydney Water’s 2025-30 price determination and its implementation in the business. The position will contribute to maintaining and promoting Sydney Water’s licence to operate and its credibility and reputation with IPART and other relevant regulatory stakeholders. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Engage with internal stakeholders' internal stakeholders to analyse issues and develop positions on strategic priority projects affecting corporate and pricing strategy, and advocate these positions to external stakeholders, such as IPART. 
• Maintain awareness of and provide advice on regulatory and licensing trends and reforms in the water industry and other utility sectors, both domestically and internationally. 
• Produce research and analysis on economic and regulatory issues, internal economic or policy advice, and price control issues. 
• Collect data across the company to ensure compliance with information disclosure obligations. 
• Conduct ongoing research on regulatory forms, environmental regulatory regimes, incentive-based mechanisms, optimal price structures, cost of capital, depreciation, finance ability, and third-party access arrangements. 
• Provide economic input and drafting support for submissions and papers. 

Skills & Experience: 

• Communication: Well-developed written, verbal, interpersonal, and analytical skills. 
• Presentation: Experience in presenting analysis and report writing to communicate complex issues to non-specialists. 
• Analytical Skills: Well-developed policy and data analysis skills. 
• Independence: Demonstrated ability to work independently, set priorities, and manage competing tasks. 
• Stakeholder Management: Demonstrated ability to establish, manage, and maintain constructive and effective internal and external stakeholder relationships on projects.
