Role Overview:

The Company Manager is responsible for creating a positive and productive working environment for artists by managing the conditions and work processes for individual actors and creative artists engaged on the 2026 production of Whispering Jack: The John Farnham Musical. The Company Manager plays a pivotal role in championing the welfare of artists working within the Company, ensuring that their physical health and wellbeing is managed in a safe and respectful manner.

Working at STC:

This is a fixed term full time contract.

What We're Looking For:

  • An appreciation and understanding of the art form of theatre, especially in an Australian context.
  • Practical experience of the process of theatrical production, creation, implementation. Previous professional experience as a company manager or stage manager of a minimum of 5 years is expected.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and negotiation skills, with strong interpersonal sensitivity, tact and diplomacy, and a demonstrated high level of proficiency in managing conflict and resolving interpersonal challenges.
  • Demonstrated experience working with artists at various stages of their careers, from early career artists to high profile individuals.
  • A self-starter as well as an ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and support junior members of the team.
  • Ability to prioritise own workload and flexibly manage multiple priorities, including a commitment to forward-thinking and planning.
