The Role

The main purpose of this role is to maintain an efficient, effective and professional box office for our season ticket holders during our season on-sale period. The Customer Service Representative (CSR) works as part of the frontline team providing our long-term customers with exemplary customer-focused ticketing and information services. 

The position is based at Sydney Theatre Company, Wharf 4/5 15 Hickson Road, Walsh Bay. 

Hours of Work  

Customer Service Representatives are employed as casual employees of Sydney Theatre Company.  

Training  

  • The training is anticipated to take place between 1st September – 4th September, though these dates may be subject to change.
  • You will be required to attend 4 training sessions during the day between 09:30-17:00, though these times may be subject to change. 
  • All training sessions are mandatory and applicants unavailable for the training period may not be considered.  

Period of work 

  • A commitment of between 3 – 8 weeks from the 14th September, though this date is subject to change 
  • During this time, you will need to be available for a minimum of 4 shifts per week, Monday to Saturday. The shift times are between 8:45am – 6.45pm, and are expected to be between 4 - 8 hours in length (subject to change) 

 Salary and Entitlements 

  • Hourly rate: $45.25 (including 25% casual loading)
  • 2 complimentary tickets to all STC productions showing during the period of employment (subject to availability, excluding Saturday Evenings)

 Selection criteria: 

  • Prior experience using computerised ticketing systems, ideally Tessitura. Full training will be provided
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, including professional phone etiquette and clear written correspondence
  • Proven capability to meet deadlines and departmental KPIs related to processing efficiency
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering outstanding customer service, with effective problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve issues promptly and logically
  • Ability to manage and prioritise tasks effectively in high-pressure environments
  • Solid computer literacy, with a focus on accurate data entry and keen attention to detail
  • An interest and appreciation of the art form of theatre, especially in an Australian context
