Role Overview:

The Lighting Technician assists the Lighting Manager and Head of Technical Operations in installing, implementing, operating, and maintaining Lighting equipment, systems, and processes. They are expected to work in collaboration with other members of the Lighting Department and Production Teams to ensure Lighting elements of a production meet the quality standards set by STC.  The Lighting Technician should expect to assume the role of Lighting Supervisor for STC productions as required.  

Contract and Hours of Work:

This is a permanent full-time role; the usual hours of work are 38 hours week. However, the nature of working for a theatre company and requirements of this position require a degree of flexibility and may include overtime work.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience in all aspects of theatrical lighting.
  • Ability and willingness to work safely at heights.
  • Experience with the ETC EOS series consoles preferred, although not essential.
  • An appreciation of the art form of theatre, especially in an Australian context.
  • Qualifications relating to the testing and tagging of electrical equipment.
  • Positive interpersonal skills and the ability to successfully interact equally well with professional associates, staff and sponsors.
