The Role
We are seeking an organised and customer-focused Administration Officer to join The Lakes Quarry team on a part time, 12-month contract basis. Based on site, you will provide essential administrative and operational support across our quarry, concrete plant and weighbridge operations. The role provides a first point of contact for customers, contractors and visitors, coordinates a range of administrative processes and maintains accurate records, documentation and systems. The role works collaboratively with site leadership and operational teams to support business requirements and ensure administrative processes are completed accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing a professional, friendly and welcoming first point of contact for customers, visitors, contractors and internal and external stakeholders
- Responding to telephone, email and in-person enquiries in a courteous, professional and efficient manner and providing accurate and appropriate information where required
- Providing professional and efficient administrative support to the Sales & Office Manager and site personnel
- Maintaining accurate correspondence, document control, filing and general office administration
- Providing accurate and professional administrative support, including message taking, word processing and routine correspondence
- Setting up new customer accounts and providing credit application forms as required
What you will need to succeed:
- Ability to organise, multitask, prioritise and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proactive with demonstrated problem-solving mindset
- Able to adapt to changing operational requirements, priorities and customer needs
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- Agile with a focus on customer service
