Flow Controller x 2 (AM & PM Shifts) | Truganina

About the Role...Be part of something new! As a Flow Controller in our newly built automated distribution centre (DC) in Truganina, you’ll play a critical role in keeping inventory moving seamlessly from inbound to outbound. With advanced automation systems—including conveyors, sorters, and robotic pickers—you’ll ensure smooth operations, coordinate workflows, and help drive peak performance in a state‑of‑the‑art facility.

We have 2 positions available:

• Flow Controller - AM shift (6:00 AM – 2:00 PM)
• Flow Controller – PM shift (2:30 PM – 10:30 PM)

Your key responsibilities will focus on:

• Continuously monitor automation systems via the Warehouse Management System/ Warehouse Control System (WMS/WCS) to ensure seamless inventory movement.
• Act as the first responder for the KNAPP system disruptions. Quickly triages issues, determines severity, and escalates to the appropriate resolver group to minimize downtime and operational impact.
• Provides clear, actionable insights to stakeholders to ensure transparency and continuity.
• Utilise system data and performance metrics to assess incidents, communicate impact, and support timely resolution.
• Identify day-to-day pain points and contribute ideas for process or system improvements.
• Maintain a safe working environment for all team members by ensuring compliance with all WHS safety programs, policies and procedures.

About you...To succeed in this role, you’ll bring a blend of strong communication and interpersonal skills—particularly the ability to motivate and engage a team—alongside demonstrated operational decision‑making with a proactive mindset.

In addition, you will bring:

• Proven experience in warehouse or logistics operations, with experience leading small teams or acting in a step-up leadership role
• Understanding and experience in Warehouse Control Systems (WCS) and Material Flow Controllers (MFC)
• Experience working with SCADA interfaces and data visualization dashboards
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment
• Familiarity with WMS and RF devices  

Highly desirable but not required:

• Experience working in an Automated Distribution Centre
• Experience in real-time monitoring of Knapp systems (Decant, Pick-it-Easy, AFR, MFR, OmniPick, Despatch)
