About the Opportunity

Reporting to the General Manager Performance, Reward and Workplace Relations, the Senior Manager, Reward and Benefits leads SRG’s workforce reward and benefits portfolio, including remuneration reviews, job evaluation, market benchmarking, retail incentives, benefits and Perks, reward analytics and governance. As the functional subject matter expert, the role sets direction, oversees delivery, develops the Reward team and ensures reward programs are equitable, compliant, accurate and commercially sustainable.

What You'll Be Responsible For

  • Lead SRG’s reward and performance strategy, ensuring remuneration programs, frameworks and policies align with business objectives and workforce priorities.
  • Provide expert reward advice to senior leaders and People stakeholders, influencing decision-making across remuneration, incentives, benefits and performance practices.
  • Own and optimise the annual remuneration review cycle, ensuring effective planning, governance, market competitiveness and alignment to reward principles.
  • Lead job evaluation and market benchmarking activities, maintaining robust role architecture and remuneration positioning across the organisation.
  • Oversee retail incentive programs and reward governance, ensuring programs are effective, compliant and deliver desired business outcomes.
  • Drive reward analytics and reporting, providing insights on remuneration trends, workforce equity, reward effectiveness and return on investment.
  • Lead reward systems, data management and process improvement initiatives, enhancing data integrity, automation, efficiency and user experience.
  • Ensure strong remuneration governance and compliance, supporting oversight committees, managing risk, and maintaining alignment with legislative and organisational requirements.
  • Lead and develop the team, driving high performance through clear accountabilities, coaching and support.

You're an experienced Reward professional who combines strong technical expertise with a commercial mindset. You build trusted relationships, enjoy solving complex challenges, and thrive on delivering reward programs that are fair, competitive and aligned to business goals. With a passion for continuous improvement, you're equally comfortable influencing senior leaders, leading a team, and using data to drive better decisions.

 

What you bring

  • Proven experience in Reward, Performance and Remuneration, with deep expertise in reward strategy, job evaluation, benchmarking and reward governance.
  • Advanced analytical and commercial acumen, with the ability to translate reward data and market insights into business recommendations.
  • Demonstrated success leading remuneration review cycles, incentive programs and reward-related projects in a complex organisation.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across senior leadership, People and business teams.
  • Strong understanding of retail operations, workforce dynamics and the link between reward programs and business performance.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with experience optimising processes, systems and ways of working to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills, with the ability to translate complex reward data into meaningful business insights.
  • Strong leadership capability, with experience developing high-performing teams is preferred.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline, with Mercer IPE accreditation highly regarded.

 

Additional information

This is a full-time, permanent role. We welcome applications from candidates based in Sydney or Brisbane, with the role operating from our rebel Home Ground Office in Rhodes (Sydney) or Strathpine Support Office (Brisbane), depending on your location.
