As our Payroll Risk & Compliance Manager, you’ll bring rigor and expertise to our governance frameworks, drive continuous improvement, and champion a culture of quality and integrity across our Australian and New Zealand payroll functions.
What you’ll Be Doing…
- Lead Governance & Compliance: Design and oversee payroll compliance and governance frameworks that ensure operational excellence across Australia and New Zealand.
- Strengthen Risk Controls: Implement robust internal controls covering audits, reconciliations, superannuation, taxation, and leave to minimise risk.
- Interpret & Apply Legislation: Translate complex legislative and Award/EA changes into practical payroll solutions, ensuring ongoing compliance.
- Manage Projects & Reviews: Lead key initiatives including remediation programs, external reviews, and audit responses with a focus on accuracy and accountability.
- Optimise Reporting & Systems: Enhance payroll reporting and system processes to drive insights, continuous improvement, and informed decision-making.
- Build Team & Stakeholder Capability: Inspire a high-performing team and collaborate across departments to embed a culture of compliance, data integrity, and process excellence.
About You: You’re a seasoned payroll compliance expert with a keen eye for detail and the leadership skills to drive strategic improvement. You thrive on complexity, communicate clearly, and take a proactive approach to identifying and managing risk.
What You’ll Bring…
- Payroll Legislation Expertise: Deep knowledge of Australian payroll legislation (NZ experience a bonus).
- Proven Program Management: Experience leading large-scale compliance programs, including audits and remediation.
- Risk & Governance Know-How: Expertise in compliance frameworks, risk mitigation strategies, and governance best practices.
- Analytical Strength: Strong analytical and reporting skills with the ability to turn data into clear, actionable insights.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Highly developed communication and relationship management skills to influence across all levels.
- Systems and Process Knowledge: Experience with complex payroll systems and a solid understanding of end-to-end process flows.
