About the Role: We're on the lookout for an Employment Relations Advisor to play a critical role in supporting our people leaders across the business – from stores to distribution centres and customer care – helping drive consistent, fair and proactive people practices.
What you’ll be doing: You’ll be a trusted advisor, working closely with frontline and mid-level leaders to guide and coach them through a wide range of employment matters, including:
- Workplace Guidance That Matters: Advising on workplace concerns such as performance, conduct, capacity, and casual employment.
- Driving Fair and Consistent People Practices: Supporting leaders in the management of probation, underperformance, and behavioural concerns.
- Championing Wellbeing in the Workplace: Providing coaching on long-term illness, mental health issues and non-work-related injuries.
- Managing Risk with Confidence: Reviewing and approving terminations in qualifying periods and for unsuitable casual team members.
- Knowing When to Escalate: Escalating workplace investigations to the specialist Case Management team where needed.
- Seamless ER Support Across the Business: Partnering with HR Connect to ensure seamless advice and business support.
- Protecting Data, Ensuring Compliance: Maintaining high standards in data governance.
What we’re looking for:
- 2+ years’ experience in an employment relations advisory or generalist HR role.
- Strong working knowledge of Australian employment legislation (NZ is a bonus).
- Proven experience providing advice and coaching to leaders in a commercial environment.
- Ability to balance empathy with compliance, influence with credibility, and detail with pragmatism.
- A continuous improvement mindset and the confidence to speak up, suggest ideas, and get involved.
- Proficiency in HRIS, case management, or ticketing platforms.
Bonus points for:
- Qualifications in HR, IR or Labour Relations.
- Mental Health First Aid Certification.
Why this role is a great growth opportunity:
- Variety & Exposure: Work across a range of issues that will build your capability in both advisory and tactical ER – no two days are the same.
- Development Pathway: Be mentored by experienced ER practitioners and leaders, and gain exposure to formal processes, investigations, and continuous improvement projects.
- Upskill Leaders: Play a part in lifting capability across the business by helping build resources, tools and knowledge that empower leaders to manage their teams confidently.
- Collaborative Culture: You’ll be part of a connected, people-first HR team that values shared learning, professional growth and real teamwork.
- Impact Across ANZ: Support both Australian and New Zealand operations with best-practice advice.
