About the Role…As Senior Legal Counsel, you’ll work closely with the Chief Legal Officer, General Manager – Group Legal, and broader legal team to support strategic priorities and major initiatives across the business.

This is a high-visibility role where you’ll not only provide expert legal guidance, but also shape risk frameworks, influence decision-making, and contribute to building capability across the team. 

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver Commercial, Practical Advice – Provide clear, outcome-focused guidance across commercial, consumer, and regulatory matters.
  • Lead Complex Legal Work – Manage key matters across procurement, contracts, marketing, supply chain, competition & consumer law, technology, privacy, and IP.
  • Draft & Negotiate with Confidence – Prepare and negotiate agreements using modern, commercially aligned approaches.
  • Influence Outcomes – Partner with stakeholders to navigate risk and drive strong business decisions.
  • Manage Disputes & Risk – Lead negotiations, oversee disputes/litigation, and enhance legal frameworks, policies, and playbooks.
  • Build Capability – Mentor junior lawyers and foster strong partnerships across teams including Procurement, Finance, Audit, and Customer. 

What You’ll Bring

  • Experienced Commercial Lawyer – 8+ years PQE across general commercial and consumer law.
  • Strong Commercial Acumen – Background in mid-to-top tier firms; retail or FMCG experience highly regarded.
  • Technical Expertise – Deep capability across contracts, consumer law, regulatory matters, and IP. Expertise in technology contract and privacy law highly regarded.
  • Agile & Solutions-Focused – Thrives in fast-paced environments with strong judgement and prioritisation skills.
  • Influential & Collaborative – Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with a proactive, team-first mindset. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Laws (or equivalent)
  • Unrestricted (or eligible) Australian practising certificate
