About the Role
We're looking for a forward-thinking Data Architect to own the design, documentation, and standards of our enterprise data architecture. This role offers end-to-end visibility across the data landscape — from defining core data principles and integration frameworks to enabling high-performance, modular solutions that support long-term innovation.
Reporting to the Head of Technology Architecture, you’ll work hands-on with modern data platforms and guide our transition toward next-gen data capabilities.
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Data Architecture: Contribute to the development of enterprise-wide data architectures in specific business, infrastructure, or functional areas.
- Innovation: Manage the innovation pipeline and execute innovation processes.
- Specialist Advice: Provide detailed and specific advice regarding data to the organisation's planning and operations.
- Strategic Planning: Collate information and create reports and insights to support strategy management processes.
- Relationship Management: Provide insight into problems and issues, managing resolutions, corrective actions, lessons learned, and the collection and dissemination of relevant information.
This role offers the flexibility to be based in Brisbane (Strathpine - ideal location), Sydney (Rhodes), or Melbourne, with a hybrid work arrangement.
About you
We are seeking an individual with Enterprise Data Architecture experience and strong understanding of data architecture standards and methodologies, as well as modern data management. To be successful in this role, you will have highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with strong customer focus and ability to understand issues, manage expectations, gain agreement, and resolve conflicts.
In addition, you will have:
- The ability to analyse and understand end-to-end data lifecycles across an enterprise and the platforms involved and conceptualise alternatives.
- Broad knowledge and experience of designing scalable, modular data architectures across multiple platforms. Experience with Salesforce and/or SAP S/4HANA is highly desirable.
- Knowledge and experience with enterprise data governance and master data with a focus on system data mastering.
- Desirable: Familiarity with the retail IT environment and the associated business-technology issues, ideally in a large corporate environment.
