We’re looking for an Assistant Category Manager to join our Car Technology team! Provide essential operational and administrative support to the Category, helping ensure category plans are delivered smoothly, on time and with a high level of accuracy.

Why this role matters

As an Assistant Category Manager, you’ll work closely with a Category Manager to support the day‑to‑day execution of category activities. You’ll play a key role behind the scenes — maintaining data, co-ordinating processes and supporting delivery across the trading calendar.

This is a hands‑on support role, ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, systems and timelines, and takes pride in getting the detail right.

What you’ll be doing

Category Support & Execution

  • Support the execution of category plans by maintaining pricing, promotional and product information in line with agreed strategies and timelines.
  • Assist with the coordination of range reviews, promotions and product changes to ensure accurate setup and on‑time delivery.

Sales & Financial Administration

  • Support sales and gross profit outcomes through accurate data management, pricing setup, rebate tracking and clearance administration.
  • Prepare and maintain reports to support category performance reviews and decision‑making.

Range & Product Administration

  • Assist with product lifecycle activities including new line setup, product updates, system maintenance and stock alignment.
  • Liaise with Planning and Trade Partners to ensure product and range data is accurate and up to date.

Trade & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Support communication with Trade Partners by coordinating information, documentation and timelines.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure category tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.

Compliance & Process Support

  • Assist with maintaining product compliance documentation and supporting sustainability and risk requirements.
  • Ensure systems, records and processes are kept up to date and audit‑ready.

What you’ll bring

  • Experience supporting merchandising, buying or category teams within a retail environment, or strong foundational experience in a commercial support role
  • Solid understanding of retail metrics with experience supporting sales, margin and pricing activities through accurate data and reporting
  • Exposure to working with trade partners, including coordinating information, documentation, and timelines
  • Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders and supporting cross‑functional collaboration
  • A highly organised, detail‑focused approach with strong time management skills and the ability to deliver against agreed deadlines
