About the Company

A growing New Zealand-owned manufacturer specialising in engineered water management and environmental solutions. Their products help developers, builders and contractors solve real-world site challenges across residential, multi-unit and civil projects. With a strong market reputation and clear growth plans, they are expanding their presence across the rest of the North Island.

The Role

We’re looking for a commercially sharp, self-driven Account Manager to take ownership of the stormwater and drainage portfolio across the Waikato, Bay of Plenty and Wellington regions.

This is a true hunter/gatherer role with a high degree of autonomy. You’ll work independently, focusing on drainage installers, developers and selected specification opportunities. Your core job is to get in front of decision-makers, uncover project opportunities early, solve real site challenges, and convert the company’s strong brand reputation into revenue.

You’ll be supported by a dedicated Customer Service team who handle quoting and post-sale servicing, so your time stays focused on customer-facing activity and pipeline growth. Secondary support to regional merchant channels will also form part of the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify, target and win new stormwater and drainage opportunities across the Waikato, Bay of Plenty and wider North Island territory
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with drain layers, developers and local specifiers
  • Act as a practical technical and commercial advisor positioning engineering capability to solve complex site drainage challenges and connecting customers with the right internal specialists
  • Leverage brand strength to generate high-value leads and convert market awareness into sustained sales
  • Provide secondary support to regional merchant partners to align distribution with project demand
  • Represent regional opportunities internally with clear commercial and financial rationale
  • Plan efficient territory travel and maintain accurate pipeline and customer data in HubSpot CRM

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven track record as a hunter who thrives on finding new customers, managing sales cycles and operating independently away from head office
  • Ideally based in the Waikato or Bay of Plenty, with willingness to travel regularly across the North Island territory
  • Ability to understand technical drainage issues and tailor solutions that save customers time and money on-site
  • Strong relationship-building skills, either existing networks or the drive to quickly map “who’s who” in regional drainage and specifier circles
  • Sharp communication and commercial acumen to build sound business cases, negotiate deals and advocate for opportunities internally
  • Resilient, proactive mindset with the organisational discipline to manage extensive travel alongside CRM admin

What’s on Offer

  • $95k – $105k remuneration + Ford Ranger
  • High autonomy of a true field-based role with strong internal technical and customer service support
  • Opportunity to work with a growing New Zealand manufacturer expanding its product range and regional footprint
  • A collaborative culture that values results and looks after its people

If you’re a commercially minded sales professional who enjoys solving problems on the ground, building real relationships and turning conversations into revenue, we’d like to hear from you.
