About the service:
The Medicare Mental Health service model is tailored to the needs of the local community and offers a combination of peer-led recovery and clinical support to provide a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for people experiencing psychological distress. Allowing low risk individuals to identify alternatives to presenting to the Emergency Department and gaining access support from trained mental health professional within their community, outside a clinical setting.

Role Overview:
- Front of house welcome with a concierge-type approach
- Initial assessment to inform level of needs and warm referral to necessary supports
- Provide regular, flexible, low intensity non-clinical supports
- System navigator function & advocacy based upon individual needs
- Attendance and participation in Communities of Practice, professional development and Critical incident management activities
Requirements:
- Cert IV in Mental Health Peer Work, or a willingness to complete
- Lived experience of your own mental illness and a rich understanding of your own processes of recovery and proactivity in managing wellbeing
- A willingness to purposefully use your own story to help others further their own understanding of recovery
- Ability to foster and maintain respectful, professional relationships with consumers, staff and organisations
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and work independently
- Computer literacy
- Must be eligible to apply/currently hold a Blue Card
- Must hold/be willing to apply for NDIS worker screening clearance
- Current driver's licence
