Role Overview:
To support the existing payroll team to ensure all staff receive on-time payments, as well as audit and verify all time-keeping records of employees’ hours worked as well as any deductions or withholdings required to comply with state and national law.
- Perform all aspects of payroll processing promptly and accurately on a fortnightly basis
- Assist with superannuation, PAYG tax, salary packaging, and other statutory obligations
- Maintain compliant policies and procedures for payroll processing
- Change employee banking records when necessary to process payments accurately
- Process new employees and terminations promptly and accurately and ensure all steps are carried out in the onboarding and exit process.
- Carry out Month end reconciliations for Annual Leave and Long service leave
- Identify and escalate payroll issues or anomalies
- Respond to payroll-related enquiries from employees and managers in a timely and professional manner
- Support both ad hoc and annual activities such as audits, end-of-financial-year reconciliations, and reporting
Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in payroll processing in a medium-to-large organisation
- Knowledge of relevant awards, enterprise agreements, and payroll legislation
- Proficiency in payroll (micropay) and HRIS systems
- Strong numeracy and attention to detail
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to manage competing deadlines
- Ability to carry out reconciliations & month end process.
- High level experience in MS Office (Excel)
- Knowledge of Portable Long service leave highly regarded (but not essential)
- Must be eligible to apply/currently hold a WWCC
- Must hold/be willing to apply for NDIS worker screening clearance
