Role Overview:

  • The Music Therapist is responsible for individual and group sessions to people aged 16 years and older with moderate to severe mental health needs
  • You will be expected to function autonomously, as well as work collaboratively with the other clinicians within the program
  • You will participate in the planning and development of services for people with mental health issues and their families which are consistent with best practice standards and evidence-based care


Requirements:

  • Must have one of the following: Registration with ANZACATA or AMTA
  • Knowledge and Skills which are gained through qualifications and previous experience in a mental health service delivery environment
  • Proven judgment and evaluation skills demonstrating a working understanding assessment and care planning
  • Sound understating of the public, non-government and private mental health systems and programs and associated non-mental health programs in a community setting
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills showing an ability and sensitivity to work with people who have or are at risk of developing a mental illness
  • Demonstrated skills in organisation and time-management, including the ability to work under pressure and balance multiple tasks
  • Excellent verbal communication and writing skills
  • Proven understanding of duty of care, rights to privacy and confidentiality
  • Must be eligible to apply/currently hold a Blue Card
  • Must hold/be willing to apply for NDIS worker screening clearance
