Role Overview:

  • Responsible for delivering quality mental health nursing care at an advanced level that requires a broad knowledge in professional issues for clients who experience severe and persistent mental illness.
  • Promote professional standards of practice and conduct and be responsible for the achievement of service goals and standards utilising contemporary mental health nursing evidence based interventions.
  • Provide clinical interventions to ensure recovery focused and evidence-based care, plans and coordinate the clinical management of client care within a multidisciplinary team

Requirements:

  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with a current annual practicing certificate (essential).
  • Current credentialing as a Mental Health Nurse through the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses (desirable)
  • Extensive experience working in mental health settings and managing clients with severe and persistent mental health conditions and complex needs.
  • Highly developed communication (including written) and interpersonal skills,
  • The ability to engage people who are hard to reach and advocate on their behalf
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, clients, carers and stakeholders.
  • Ability to use a desktop computer, with familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and capacity to learn how to use a new clinical software package
  • Must be eligible to apply/currently hold a Blue Card
  • Must hold/be willing to apply for NDIS worker screening clearance 
  • Current Driver's License.
