Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

Our client, a leading pharmaceutical company, is currently seeking an accomplished Maintenance Mechanic to join the team. Here is an overview of the role:

1) Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical aspects of thermometers, cold formers, cartoners, printers, serialization equipment, check weighers, vision systems, labelers and other packaging equipment

2) Adhere to all cGMPs, safety regulations and SOPs.

3) Maintain good housekeeping throughout the shift in the work areas

4) Work as a team member with other members of the Operations Team to meet and exceed quality and production goals

5) Be responsible for being an active participant in continuous improvement activities to promote improved efficiency and effectiveness of the production line

6) Take initiative in proposing and driving continuous improvement activities in the production area

7) Train operators and technicians on operational set-up issues

8) Observe proper lockout, tag out and all safety procedures, as required

9) Understand maintenance principles and develop self and department work practices to promote a proactive environment

10) Understand and utilize drawings, diagrams and equipment manufacturers' instructions

11) Troubleshoot electrical controls, motor circuits, single and three-phase electrical systems

12) Ensure the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements and adjustments on production equipment, conveyors, pumps, motors and pneumatic systems

13) Follow blueprints, diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications

14) Troubleshoot malfunctions

15) Monitor equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level

16) Anticipate needed equipment, parts, and supplies for repairs and projects.

17) Adhere to and operate under 5S principles and guidelines for the promotion of efficient and effective operations

Critical Requirements

1) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)

2) Recent experience in the pharmaceutical industry is strongly preferred

3) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in maintenance
