Job Description


A brilliant opportunity exists for an outstanding individual capable of fitting into this very rewarding Controls Engineer role. Our client, a leading pharmaceutical company, is looking to hire someone who can bring added value to the team. If you’re dedicated, energetic and detail-oriented, this could be the perfect role for you. Responsibilities include:


1) Design, configuration, integration and implementation of process control solutions

2) Develop and review electrical schematics, P&IDs, software systems and logic, hardware and software design specifications.

3) Develop and execute control system testing protocols

4) Manage automation projects

5) Install, test and start-up of on-site control systems

6) Train engineering and maintenance on control systems

7) Assist with problem isolation and repair of packaging process equipment

8) Maintain vendor relationships and assist with problem resolution

9) Lead continuous improvement activities by proposing performance improvements or cost reduction changes generated through process, part or material changes

10) Assist with the Factory Acceptance Testing, including verification of accuracy of wiring diagrams and PLC and HMI software

11) Obtain quotations for electrical and control systems work needed for projects and daily operations

12) Assist with establishing preventative, predictive and reactive maintenance on packaging equipment.

13) Investigate and solve reported manufacturing and service problems

14) Support all IQ, OQ and PQ activities

15) Perform other duties as assigned


Critical Requirements


1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field

2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)

3) Recent experience in the pharmaceutical industry is strongly preferred

4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in controls engineering

Compensation and Other Details


Base Salary: Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
