Senior Controls Engineer

Job Description

Our client, a leading pharmaceutical company, is currently seeking an accomplished Senior Controls Engineer to join the team. Here is an overview of the role:

1) Participate in the development and implementation of connected enterprise strategies that support company’s business objectives

2) Maintain company’s BMS and connected enterprise strategy

3) Use well developed knowledge of process automation and networking to assess and supply strategic direction for plant wide network troubleshooting and continuous improvement

4) Maintain, improve on and support current and future converged plant wide networks, automation and controls systems

5) Maintain and support include regular monitoring of system health, security improvements, and troubleshooting of system failures

6) Establish validation strategy for new or upgraded plant wide networks that satisfies cGMP requirements

7) Write, review and execute validation protocols and reports, as required

8) Supervise work performed by other team members and contractors

9) Create implementation plans, then prioritize activities and closely manage project milestones of assigned projects

10) Identify options and contingencies to keep numerous active projects on track

11) Maintain project costs within approved budgets

12) Identify program problems and obtain solutions when needed

13) Manage vendor-partner relationships, including selecting vendors, defining requirements, negotiating price and delivery, maintaining accountability, ensuring mutual confidentiality, and providing close oversight of vendor work activities

14) Develop and implement necessary SOPs and training documents

15) Train engineers, operator and maintenance personnel on system features and SOPs

16) Develop and submit documentation to the Executive Team regarding current status of projects, compliance to schedules, strategic planning and project budgets

17) Ensure standardization of formal procedures and processes for Engineering and organization as a whole

18) Work actively and effectively with personnel at all levels within company’s organization

19) Lead continuous improvement activities by proposing performance improvements or cost reduction changes generated through process, part or material changes

20) Design, configuration, integration, and implementation of process control solutions

21) Develop and review of electrical schematics, P&IDs, software systems and logic, hardware and software design specifications

22) Assist with Factory Acceptance Testing , including verification of accuracy of wiring diagrams and PLC and HMI software

23) Be responsible for capital project management

24) Perform other duties as assigned

Critical Requirements

1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field

2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)

3) Recent experience in the pharmaceutical industry is strongly preferred

4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in controls engineering
