Job Description
A leading biopharmaceutical industry company is seeking a Director of Technical Engineering to join their team. Key duties include:
1) Manage the day-to-day activities of the Facilities, Maintenance and Engineering departments for the facility to ensure production readiness
2) Recommend system changes that encourage quality, improve efficiency and reduce costs
3) Develop and maintain equipment preventative maintenance schedules for equipment and systems
4) Manage the Facilities Engineering Group
5) Manage vendor and supplier contracts, as required
6) Establish work schedules and job responsibilities for the Facilities Maintenance and Engineering groups
7) Train and direct employees to establish a high level of job competency
8) Mentor less experienced employees to develop a skill set
9) Develop and enforce company policies and SOPs
10) Establish and maintain effective communication links to ensure top-down and bottom-up communication
11) Identify technological and productivity improvements and formulate plans to implement these improvements within the limits of a cGMP environment, under the direction of the Senior Director of Facilities and Engineering
12) Establish and develop departmental and operational budgets for all areas of responsibility and present recommendations to the Senior Director of Facilities and Engineering
13) Perform other duties as assigned
Critical Requirements
1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field
2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)
3) Recent experience in the biopharmaceutical industry is strongly preferred
4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in engineering management
