Senior Manager of Research and Development

Job Description

Our client, a leading pharmaceutical company, is looking for a Senior Manager of Research and Development to join their team. If you have the required experience and are up for a challenge, this could be a great opportunity for you. Responsibilities include:

1) Evaluate new projects

2) Assist in batch record preparation

3) Supervise technology transfer as required

4) Contribute to developmental analytical methods, as required

5) Maintain, organize and present experimental output

6) Author and review project-specific development reports

7) Direct supervision of project R&D chemists

8) Coordinate R&D, QA/QC and production goals

9) Present project updates to management and customers

10) Provide technical guidance to RD personnel

11) Hands-on performance of thoroughly-documented chemical process experimentation

12) Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current chemical literature

13) Investigate new technologies, as appropriate

14) Maintain safety compliance with EHS and other departmental practices

15) Maintain laboratory workspace in an orderly and functional manner

16) Maintain regulatory compliance through practice and regular training

17) Ensure maintenance of R&D instrumentation in working order

Critical Requirements

1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field

2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)

3) Recent experience in the pharmaceutical industry is strongly preferred

4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in research and development management

Compensation and Other Details

Base Salary: Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
