Job Summary This position reports to the Director of Engineering and is a "hands on" role, supporting technology and product development projects from initial research through all phases of design and development. This position will be responsible for designing and developing new company technologies and products, creating requirement specifications to redesign existing products, and performing verification and validation testing as necessary to demonstrate compliance with regulatory bodies. Independently applies extensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields. Uses advanced techniques in the modification or extension of theories and practices of sciences and disciplines to complete assignments. Works on a major project or several projects of moderate scope with complex features. Is sought many times by subordinate engineers as a technical resource and for project assistance. ?Essential Responsibilities & Duties Applies judgment and analysis for the design, development and implementation of new technology platforms, technical products, and systems. Resolves highly complex technical issues and conducts advanced research. Recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of products, technologies and/or procedures. Reviews complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance. Develops new techniques and/or improved processes, materials, or products/processes. Assists upper level management and staff as a technical specialist or advisor. May supervise all staff necessary to complete assignments. Reviews and presents scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments. Prepares proposals to provide professional services or obtain funding for engineering projects or programs. Works with technology suppliers to develop new sensing capabilities Interacts with customers to educate and translate pressure sensing system capabilities to customer requirements May be required to conduct webinars and technical presentations on sensor related topics Work with Intellectual property attorneys to file patents Education and/or Experience Minimum of 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a Master’s degree in the field or in a related area. Experience in the following areas a plus. Medical device design Demonstrated understanding of MEMS or ASIC semiconductor processing methods Analog and Digital circuit design expertise related to sensor signal conditioning Familiarity with tools such as MATLAB and LabVIEW Demonstrated bench-top evaluation and debugging skills Familiarity with one or more pressure measurement standards: BP-22, IEC 60601-2-34 Wireless communication standards such as BLE Software development
