Job Description
Our client, a leading research company, is currently recruiting a Director of Research and Development who will infuse the Research and Development Team with their talent, energy and leadership skills. 1) Work directly with the Vice President of Emerging Infectious Disease and Epidemiology to lead designated EID vaccine programs and projects
2) Maintain and build relationships with key thought leaders and external collaborators to support existing company-led vaccine development consortiums
3) Ensure systems and processes are in place to support a working relationship and communication among program collaborators and company team members as well as key vendors involved in the program
4) Collaborate with the DDL and senior EID department members to identify alternative pathogens suitable for development using VSV and viral vector platforms
5) Maintain a detailed understanding of the contract requirements of all program agreements
6) Serve as internal expert for stakeholders to translate contract requirements as it relates to overall scientific program strategy
7) Support the company’s efforts to build alliances and partnerships with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies and key stakeholders locally and internationally
8) Collaborate with company resource mobilization and develop an integrated fund-raising strategy to secure ongoing programs
9) Perform other duties as assigned
Critical Requirements
1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field
2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)
3) Recent experience in the research industry is strongly preferred
4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in research and development

Base Salary: Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
