Job Description

A brilliant opportunity exists for an outstanding individual capable of fitting into this very rewarding Scientist role. Our client, a leading biotechnology company, is looking to hire someone who can bring added value to the team. If you’re dedicated, energetic and detail-oriented, this could be the perfect role for you. Responsibilities include:

1) Oversee manufacture and optimization of assay-ready cells to support the development of custom bioassays for diverse company assay formats

2) Participate as one of several analysts to perform assay qualification of custom bioassays with client therapeutic agent and generate the required data within timelines defined by the client

3) Review own assay qualification results and confirm accuracy before submitting to supervisor and project lead for inclusion in study results and reports

4) Provide appropriate documentation and technical support for downstream users of custom bioassays, including the contribution of detailed protocols for user manuals, custom methods and client reports

5) Provide detailed cell lot manufacturing and cell culturing information to the Operations Team and train others to perform assay-ready cell manufacturing, as needed

6) Perform new assay development as needed to facilitate rapid development of novel assays for company product portfolio and custom development projects

7) Present results in both written and oral format and deliver data and reports to appropriate stakeholders within a multidisciplinary team environment in a timely fashion

8) Document experimental procedures and results in the electronic laboratory notebook and store data on appropriate secure data servers in accordance with the company’s policy

9) Provide cross-functional support to other departments, as required

10) Adjust work hours as needed to meet client deadlines

11) Apply quality principles in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate

12) Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner and adhere to site employee health and safety requirements

13) Perform other duties as assigned to support the smooth functioning of shared laboratory spaces and equipment

Critical Requirements

1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field

2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)

3) Recent experience in the biotechnology industry is strongly preferred

4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in research and development

Compensation and Other Details

Base Salary: Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
