Job Description


Our client, a leading biotechnology company, is currently seeking an accomplished Principal Scientist to join the team. Here is an overview of the role:


1) Lead method development, optimization and phase-appropriate qualification of custom bioassays for clients as per ICH guidelines and meet defined project timelines and produce high quality data and reports

2) Participate in intake phone calls with new clients to establish project requirements and deliverables and teleconferences with clients to communicate the progress of ongoing projects

3) Oversee development, troubleshooting and qualification of new bioassays in product portfolio intended for potency and neutralizing antibody applications

4) Implement design of experiment approaches in bioassay development and qualification process to understand performance characteristics and improve robustness of company bioassays

5) Write detailed methods to facilitate assay transfer and documents critical manufacturing information in the development of ready-to-use cell banks and transfer to the Cell Manufacturing Team

6) Serve as liaison between the Bioassay, Cell Manufacturing, Customer support and Marketing teams to ensure the successful implementation of company bioassays at customer sites

7) Prepare and collaborate with QA and Marketing teams in finalizing all appropriate documentation to support product launch and transfer of assays and methods to client sites

8) Participate in method transfer phone calls with clients and training of company technical support staff

9) Prepare data and scientific content for presentations, posters, webinars, manuscripts, white papers and other relevant company materials

10) Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner

11) Provide cross-functional support to other departments, as required

12) Adjust work hours as needed to meet client deadlines

13) Adhere to site employee health and safety requirements

14) Perform other duties as assigned


Critical Requirements


1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field

2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)

3) Recent experience in the biotechnology industry is strongly preferred

4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in research and development

Compensation and Other Details


Base Salary: Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
