Job Description


Our client, a leading contract research company, is currently recruiting a Vice President of Research Operations who will infuse the Research Operations Team with their talent, energy and leadership skills. 1) Restructure the research operations with input from the CEO and company’s executives in order to better utilize the capabilities of staff in a matrix structure

2) Expand core capabilities and apply staff and resources to projects across functional groups based on expertise and availability

3) Meet with employees on regular basis to help them understand the goals of the work and the future direction of the company as a whole

4) Use schedule along with the project management operations to ensure the efficient use of resources

5) Review employee performance and recommend salary bonus and other incentives and set up comprehensive goals for future performance and growth

6) Meet with executives as needed and attend weekly contract and drug discovery meetings to understand the priorities and pipeline

7) Oversee daily operations of the company to ensure deliverables are provided to clients on time

8) Work with IT, Research, Business Development, Finance and HR departments to ensure the operations flows smoothly

9) Work with the Finance Team to evaluate performance by contract and employee analyzing and interpreting data and metrics

10) Participate in expansion activities

11) Help, develop and maintain external relationships with scientists in industry and academia, especially those who can support the research programs

12) Represent the company in scientific community through publication in leading scientific journals and presentation and attendance at scientific conferences

13) Serve as a key member of company’s Executive Committee and attend regular Executive Committee meetings, Scientific Advisory Board and Board of Directors meetings, as requested

14) Perform other duties as assigned


Critical Requirements


1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field

2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)

3) Recent experience in the contract research industry is strongly preferred

4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in research operations management

Compensation and Other Details


Base Salary: Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
