Job Description

Our client, a leading biotechnology company, is currently recruiting a Director of Biostatistics who will infuse the Biostatistics Team with their talent, energy and leadership skills. 1) Lead the creation of departmental systems, standards and processes

2) Manage and supervise a team of contract and full-time staff and external vendors

3) Assist with department budgeting and resource planning

4) Lead clinical development programs by overseeing all biostatistical aspects across studies within a program and sets of programs

5) Think strategically about clinical development programs in terms of study designs, data and statistical analyses, life cycle management and resourcing

6) Respond to and interact with external parties, including regulatory agencies, health authorities, data monitoring committees, key opinion leaders and publication authors

7) Evaluate and compare the operating characteristics of competing clinical study designs

8) Write statistical sections of study protocols

9) Write and oversee the development of statistical analysis plans

10) Develop and review shells and programming specifications for TFLs

11) Review data sets and specifications

12) Oversee and perform ad-hoc and exploratory analyses to support publications and internal decision making

13) Oversee the production of outputs to support safety reports

14) Assist with marketing application activities

15) Manage the day-to-day work of direct reports

16) Provide input into decisions around recruitment and performance reviews in conjunction with Line Manager

17) Ensure that communication of projects, team and company news is cascaded in a timely way

18) Ensure the appropriate onboarding and training of new staff

Critical Requirements

1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field

2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)

3) Recent experience in the biotechnology industry is strongly preferred

4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in biostatistics management

Compensation and Other Details

Base Salary: Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
