Job Description

We are seeking a driven individual with a passion for the medical device industry. One of our clients is looking to add a strong Applications Chemist to their team. Responsibilities include:

1) Develop LC and GC methods in the laboratory, with a variety of sample preparation techniques employed, in order to evaluate and recommend products suitable for the customer’s purpose and in line with marketing initiatives

2) Manage collaborations with academia and accounts to utilize products in their projects

3) Define projects and support and then report results in a way that marketing can use to generate more sales and interest

4) Train customers, field representatives and other co-workers on effective sample preparation techniques as well as on the use of system platforms

5) Travel with local representatives and independent travel to customer accounts, support end-user evaluations and implement solutions

6) Communicate with customers, Field representatives and co-workers through phone, writing and oral presentations, regarding applications work done by yourself as well as others

7) Take incoming calls on applications questions from and make follow-up calls for the representatives, as needed

8) Draft app notes, posters and details of experiments in a clear and complete manner, according to the company’s templates

9) Participate in trade groups, such as AACC and AOAC is encouraged to effectively network

10) Attend and represent key trade shows, work in the booth, present results and answer the technical questions

11) Evaluate potential products and provide input for new product development

12) Assist Service and Inside Sales representatives as needed to prepare for field support at events and demos

13) Collaborate on project teams, while maintaining project tracking with current and planned milestones and collateral

14) Perform other duties as assigned

Critical Requirements

1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field

2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)

3) Recent experience in the medical device industry is strongly preferred

4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in application chemistry

Compensation and Other Details

Base Salary: Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
