Job Description


Our client, a leading nutraceutical company, is currently seeking an accomplished Senior Accountant to join the team. Here is an overview of the role:


1) Perform accounting functions as assigned in accordance with GAAP and internal control procedures, such as posting journal entries, preparing monthly reconciliations and analyzing accounting transactions

2) Prepare revenue recognition schedules and perform trend and variance analysis to ensure proper technical accounting

3) Partner with the business on revenue recognition policies

4) Coordinate on-time completion of monthly close process with the Accounting and Finance team using teamwork and similar technology platform

5) Maintain quarterly review and year-end audit timelines

6) Coordinate activities with Accounting and Finance organization, along with the external auditors, to ensure efficient audits and meet target filing deadlines

7) Prepare financial statements, work papers and support audit schedules for quarterly reviews and annual audits and provide explanations for significant income statement and balance sheet variance analysis

8) Provide training to Accounts Receivable, Sales, Order Management and Logistics teams to ensure the compliance with internal controls

9) Recommend and implement improvements to the processes

10) Coordinate completion and approval of customer contracts, as well as credit checks, as needed

11) Evaluate contracts to identify and ensure proper revenue recognition compliance 

12) Focus on process improvements to drive efficiencies and effectiveness

13) Update desk procedures and process narratives annually

14) Assist accounts payable in printing weekly manual checks

15) Serve as mentor and backup support to the Accounts Receivable Clerk

16) Maintain system of internal controls

17) Assist in the preparation of census forms and insurance renewal documentation

18) Assist in ad hoc analysis and special projects as requested from the CFO and the Corporate Controller

19) Perform other duties as assigned


Critical Requirements


1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field

2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)

3) Recent experience in the nutraceutical industry is strongly preferred

4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in accounting

Compensation and Other Details


Base Salary: Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
