Job Description
Our client, a leading pharmaceutical company, is currently seeking an accomplished Purchasing Agent to join the team. Here is an overview of the role:
1) Gather and analyze data, study sales and inventory records, identify suppliers and stay on top of factors affecting supply and demand to forecast current and future costs of needed products and materials
2) Identify potential suppliers, evaluate and interview them to determine quality, price, reliability, and delivery terms and make decisions to ensure that needed supplies arrive in time and at a price that supports the organization's objectives
3) Determine critical vendors list and the process for replacing failed vendors
4) Prepare and process purchase orders and requisition forms
5) Develop procedures regarding contract management
6) Maintain records of goods and services ordered and received
7) Gather accurate specifications for equipment, product and materials need from experts
8) Take necessary steps to ensure a steady supply of inventory items needed to support production
9) Coordinate with Accounts, Engineering and Production Staff to ensure smooth operations, accurate and sufficient inventory and other duties as management may assign
10) Maintain inventory of parts necessary to meet production demands
11) Ensure appropriate inventory control by replenishment perform cycle counts and discrepancy reconciliation
12) Process customer orders for replacement and spare parts
13) Supervise orders and arrange stocking of raw materials and equipment to ensure they meet needs
14) Keep logs and records of warehouse stock and executed orders
15) Prepare accurate reports for upper management
16) Create instrument builds in quick books
17) Manage facilities as required
18) Perform other duties as assigned
Critical Requirements
1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field
2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)
3) Recent experience in the pharmaceutical industry is strongly preferred
4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in purchasing

Base Salary: Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
