Job Description


A leading company in the biopharmaceutical industry is currently seeking a Director of Supply Chain Planning to join their team. The role will be challenging but also highly rewarding and this leader will be a key voice in the company. For the right executive, this is a fantastic opportunity with great growth prospects. Key duties include:


1) Drive the sales and operations planning process, including research, clinical and commercial demand forecasting and production planning

2) Establish a process and system for quantifying, allocating and reporting production capacity

3) Support updates of the operations long range plan that outlines future capabilities, update capacity models and decisions needed to support the company’s overall strategy in partnership with key stakeholders

4) Meet with stakeholders to determine short-and long-term production demand to identify capacity constraints

5) Develop a streamlined and scalable supply chain process with robust tracking capabilities

6) Manage dynamic patient scheduling and associate logistics daily to ensure capacity is effectively used and the clinical program timelines are met

7) Lead ongoing scheduling communication between manufacturing site, project teams and customers

8) Lead overall operations strategies assessment

9) Translate technical requirements from product teams into manufacturing implementation plans

10) Manage external manufacturing partner relationships

11) Establish cold chain shipping and distribution strategy and processes

12) Qualify logistics providers and set up the supply chain, including courier selection and container validation

13) Manage data logging capabilities to maintain shipping conditions and unit tracking

14) Establish and maintain a system for managing supply of materials that includes specifying, purchasing, receiving, testing, releasing and using materials

15) Establish and execute material planning procedures to ensure a consistent supply of materials

16) Work with Sourcing and Quality teams to establish and maintain a reliable supplier network to provide the best value

17) Partner with quality to conduct risk assessment and supplier audit / qualification

18) Use risk-based approach to determine preferred supplier and materials supply and inventory strategies

19) Define and report to supply chain performance management

20) Identify, develop and implement reporting and analytics to support the monitoring of overall supply chain performance

21) Measure, trend and report supply related KPIs as a basis to drive continuous improvement


Critical Requirements


1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field

2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)

3) Recent experience in the biopharmaceutical industry is strongly preferred

4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in supply chain management
