Job Description


Our client, a leading machinery company, is currently seeking an ambitious Manufacturing Engineer to help lead their team. This is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated candidate with a go-getter attitude and a drive to succeed. Responsibilities include:


1) Calculate flow and fill rates for optimal casting fill

2) Calculate gates, runners and riser sizes

3) Determine best use of plate layout and design for best production options

4) Provide plate and gating layouts to internal and external pattern shops

5) Verify gating design with use of Magma software

6) Adopt APQP new product development process

7) Review all the new parts with internal and external customers

8) Follow the APQP process until the sample process begins

9) Hand over the remaining process to the Quality Team to run the sample until production part approval process 

10) Complete the process by having a close out meeting and cost analysis of the product

11) Participate as a vital part of the scrap reduction team

12) Address jobs problem through design and foundry knowledge

13) Implement corrective and preventative actions as they arise

14) Prepare and complete CARS for customers

15) Design and fabricate fixtures for different parts

16) Monitor profitability of gate grinding parts

17) Assist in programming the machine for specific parts

18) Update customers 3D models, as necessary

19) Advise customers of part design concerns and recommendations

20) Participate in daily project startups and engineering meetings

21) Manage work queue to maintain better on time completion of information to pattern shops

22) Assist in other foundry designing projects, as needed

23) Perform all duties in compliance with ISO procedures and processes

24) Assist with training new and existing employees on plate and gating layout and design

25) Perform other duties as assigned


Critical Requirements


1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field

2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)

3) Recent experience in the machinery industry is strongly preferred

4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in manufacturing engineering

Base Salary: Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
