Job Description

We are seeking a driven individual with a passion for the distribution industry. One of our clients is looking to add a strong Fabrication Manager to their team. Responsibilities include:

1) Organize work flow by monitoring steps of the process

2) Observe control points and equipment

3) Develop reporting procedures and systems

4) Facilitate corrections to malfunctions within process control points

5) Initiate and foster a spirit of cooperation within and between departments

6) Create and revise systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, capacity planning, record-keeping systems, forms of control and budgetary and personnel requirements

7) Forecast operating costs of department and direct preparation of budget requests

8) Establish, monitor and revise KPIs and production standards to drive improvements in productivity, reduction in scrap and rework and safer work practices

9) Work with production planning to ensure customer demands are met by scheduling and assigning personnel

10) Build bridges to improve communication and collaboration between fabrication, customer service and SalesForce

11) Maintain a safe and clean work environment

12) Educate and direct personnel on the use of equipment and resources

13) Maintain compliance with established policies and procedures

14) Understand, utilize and coach employees in lean manufacturing principles to drive continuous improvement

15) Develop improved strategies for production floor employees to help the business grow and improve

16) Advise the Management of new developments which may affect profit, schedule, costs, customer relations and interdepartmental relations

17) Maintain a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner

18) Act as a change agent

19) Lead and influence employees at all levels in and through the change process

20) Improve fabrication results by increasing accountability and employee empowerment through communicating job expectation

21) Plan, monitor and appraise job results

22) Coach, counsel and discipline employees

23) Initiate, coordinate and enforce systems, policies and procedures

24) Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and define training needs

25) Manage poor performance as well as recognize and reward solid and superior performance levels

26) Perform other duties as assigned

Critical Requirements

1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field

2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)

3) Recent experience in the distribution industry is strongly preferred

4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in fabrication management

Compensation and Other Details

Base Salary: Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
