Job Description


Our client, a leading plastic company, is currently seeking an accomplished Plant Manager to join the team. Here is an overview of the role:


1) Manage and organize maintenance operations

2) Plan the use of facilities, equipment and personnel to meet current and future manufacturing requirements, plant layout and improvements

3) Maintain the highest possible level of employee and employer relationships

4) Develop and recommend approval of an operating budget for each section supervised and initiates action to operate within those fiscal plans

5) Maintain uninterrupted production and product quality and quantity within the limitations of established manufacturing costs and budget allocations

6) Manage production operations to ensure scheduled workflow and use of personnel, skills, machines and facilities

7) Direct and expedite machine repairs and correction of other problems obstructing production procedures

8) Use motivating techniques and delegates responsibilities and appropriate authority to subordinate supervisory

9) Supervise inventories of machine replacement parts, materials and supplies to ensure that they are maintained at proper levels

10) Ensure the use of proper safety devices, equipment and methods and maintenance of general housekeeping

11) Participate in plant management meetings to assist in planning and to make recommendations on matters related to manufacturing and maintenance operations

12) Implement general administrative and technical programs

13) Manage and maintain a proper plant maintenance and manufacturing workforce

14) Develop, supervise and maintain department in order to attain the required objectives

15) Compensate, motivate and discipline subordinates in accordance with current policies and procedures

16) Conduct performance appraisals on a timely basis

17) Stay current with latest technology in materials, machinery and processes

18) Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations issued by OSHA, EPA and other federal, state and local regulatory agencies

19) Contribute positive suggestions or comments concerning quality, production, safety and housekeeping

20) Perform other duties and responsibilities, as needed


Critical Requirements


1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field

2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)

3) Recent experience in the plastic industry is strongly preferred

4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in plant management
