The Work Mates program focuses on empowering participants to build confidence, develop practical employability skills, and achieve meaningful employment outcomes. It provides long-term and personalised employment coaching to youth and adults with a NDIS plan, and delivers tailored, hands-on support.
This role is based in Cairns City. This a casual position, perfect for someone wanting flexibility and balance without compromising on purpose.
What You'll Do:
- Support individuals to identify goals and overcome barriers
- Coach participants in resumes, job searching, and interview skills
- Deliver engaging, person-centred job readiness training
- Develop confidence, social skills, and workplace readiness
- Connect with employers and advocate for participant opportunities
- Track progress and maintain accurate, confidential records

About You:
- Genuinely passionate about supporting people with disability
- Great interpersonal skills and natural ability to build rapport
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain concepts clearly and adjust your style to suit different learners
- Naturally empathetic, patient, and able to connect with people from all walks of life
- Proactive and solutions-focused, always looking for ways to remove barriers and create opportunities
What You Bring:
- Certificate III (or higher) in a relevant field, or equivalent experience
- Current Working with Children card (blue card) and NDIS Worker Screening (yellow card)
- NDIS Worker orientation module
- Current open driver's licence
