At Pathways College, we believe in creating opportunities. Our Hospitality Program supports students with disability to build practical life skills, gain real-world hospitality experience and develop the confidence needed for greater independence and future employment.

We’re looking for passionate hospitality professionals who enjoy mentoring others, sharing their knowledge and creating engaging, hands-on learning experiences.

We currently have two exciting opportunities available within our Hospitality Program.

Opportunity 1 – Hospitality Trainer (Classroom & Kitchen)

Casual Opportunity | Applicants must be available to work Mondays and Wednesdays

Do you enjoy teaching practical skills that make a real difference in people’s everyday lives?

As our Hospitality Trainer, you’ll deliver engaging classroom and practical kitchen sessions that help students develop the skills and confidence to live more independently.

Through hands-on learning, you’ll teach students how to prepare healthy meals, understand nutrition, safely use kitchen equipment, plan meals, audit their fridge and pantry before shopping, budget for groceries and bulk prepare meals for the week ahead.

Working closely with students, you’ll create an engaging and supportive learning environment where every individual is encouraged to participate, build confidence and achieve their personal goals.

In this role, you will:

• Deliver engaging classroom and practical kitchen sessions.
• Teach healthy meal preparation, nutrition and food safety.
• Support students to develop practical cooking skills and confidence.
• Teach meal planning, grocery shopping preparation and food budgeting.
• Encourage independence through everyday life skills.
• Effectively manage classroom behaviours and foster positive student engagement.
• Adapt your teaching approach to suit individual learning needs.
• Maintain accurate case notes and documentation.

To be successful, you’ll bring:

• A commercial cookery or chef background.
• Strong behavioural management and classroom facilitation skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• A passion for helping students develop confidence, independence and practical life skills.
• Hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent)
• Hold a current First Aid certificate
• Hold and maintain a valid Open Car Drivers Licence.
• Provide a certificate of completion of the Epilepsy and Seizure Awareness training including Midazolam Administration - ESAMA or be willing to obtain.
• Hold a NDIS Worker Screening Card and Working With Children's Card

Opportunity 2 – Hospitality Support Trainer (Training Café)

Part-Time | 2 Days per Week, Thursday & Friday 7:00am -3:00pm

Do you love working in hospitality and helping others discover what they’re capable of?

As our Hospitality Support Trainer – working in Café on George, you’ll mentor students within our functioning training café, helping them develop the practical hospitality skills, workplace confidence and experience needed to prepare for future employment.

You’ll coach students through real café operations, teaching customer service, coffee making, food preparation and workplace expectations while providing patient, encouraging support every step of the way.

In this role, you will:

• Support students through day-to-day café operations.
• Teach barista skills, food preparation and customer service.
• Model professional hospitality standards and workplace expectations.
• Build students’ confidence through practical, real-world learning.
• Encourage teamwork, communication and workplace readiness.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming and inclusive café environment.
• Support students to develop transferable skills for future employment.

To be successful, you’ll bring:

• A commercial cookery or chef background.
• Demonstrated barista skills and experience working in a busy café environment.
• A patient, supportive and encouraging approach to mentoring students.
• The ability to adapt your communication style to meet individual learning needs.
• Strong interpersonal and coaching skills.
• Hold a current First Aid and CPR qualifications.
• Hold and maintain a valid Open Car Drivers Licence.
• Provide a certificate of completion of the Epilepsy and Seizure Awareness training including Midazolam Administration - ESAMA or be willing to obtain.
• Hold a NDIS Worker Screening Card and Working With Children's Card
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent)/ open to obtaining – desirable.
