St Barbara Limited is an Australian based ASX listed gold producer and explorer. St Barbara's assets include one of Australia's deepest underground mines at its Leonora Operations in Western Australia and an open pit gold mining operation on Simberi Island in Papua New Guinea.
St Barbara Limited are currently seeking a Health, Safety and ER Advisor to join the team within our Health, Safety & Environment department at Leonora Operations.
Reporting to the Health & Safety Superintendent, the successful incumbent will provide health and safety advice and support to Leonora Operations site and contract partners.
Key accountabilities of this role include:
Providing support to the Health and Safety Superintendent in the communication and effective operation of the health and safety components of the Company’s Health, Safety & Environment Management System across Leonora Operations.
Providing timely and appropriate Emergency Response services to Leonora Operations.
Contributing to the collection, storage and interpretation of reliable health and safety data.
Contributing to effective internal and external health and safety reporting.
Providing health, safety and emergency response related advice to all site personnel some situations will require after hours on call work.
Leading site health and safety investigations as and when required.
Contributing productively as a member of the Leonora Health, Safety and Environment team.
Managing the best use of own time and other resources to achieve the required outcomes.
Ensuring own work performance meets all role requirements; and taking appropriate actions to develop in current role and for future roles.
Experience and Qualifications Required:
The successful candidate will have:

Ability to produce a National Police Clearance (valid within the last 3 months) for site access purposes
Current unencumbered West Australian ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence
Minimum Certificate Diploma in Work, Health & Safety
Certificate IV Health Care (Ambulance), that is up-to-date
Minimum Cert III Mine Emergency Response, including closed circuit
At least 4 years mine safety experience, with a minimum of 2 years site safety underground experience
Experienced driver in underground environment
Strong ability to work effectively with people
Strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills, as well as time management and a high level of enthusiasm
Incident investigation qualification (ICAM, Tap Root or similar)
Knowledge of the statutory requirements of the role
Demonstrated high level of computer literacy (MS Office, HSE management systems)
Certificate IV Training & Assessment
Lead Auditor qualification
A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline

This role is offered on a 8 day on / 6 day off roster FIFO from Perth, DIDO from Kalgoorlie or Residential Leonora.
