We are currently seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our team. This is permanent full-time position based in Perth CBD.

Reporting to the Manager Finance you will lead the group financial planning and analysis function, ensuring operational excellence and sound analysis for forward looking activities that assist senior stakeholders and optimise business performance.

The opportunity

  • Developing and maintaining Life of Mine (LOM) planning models and strategic investment decision models to assist the senior management team in making value accretive decisions for shareholders.
  • Leading the group’s business planning processes (including budget and forecast activities) across wholly owned and joint venture operations, driving strategic alignment and timely completion.
  • Delivering accurate, timely and insightful Group consolidation of forecasts and budgets including joint venture operations supported by relevant commentary.
  • Providing timely, accurate, standardised, and insightful performance reporting that drives achievement of business objectives and strategy and that focuses leadership’s attention on the business performance, risks, and opportunities.
  • Empowering senior leadership to make value adding decisions through the provision of high-quality data and analytics, including analysis of joint venture performance.
  • Actively challenging thinking and provide astute recommendations on how to maximise value and support St Barbara’s strategic ambitions supported by business analytics.
  • Developing and maintaining Group procedures, including those relating to planning, forecasting and reporting for joint ventures.   
  • Providing finance business partnering to functional departments through high quality financial and commercial support, analysis, insights, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Supporting continuous improvement by driving simplicity and standardisation of finance processes, initiatives for own role and contribution to Finance function and Company initiatives.

We would love to hear from you if you have​:

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise.
  • Demonstrated strategic and analytical thinking capability, with an ability to apply that capability to financial planning outputs.
  • Proactive, high energy and resilience with demonstrated capacity to deliver under pressure.
  • Flexible and continuous improvement mindset with a strong aptitude to problem solve.
  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end mining process.
  • Demonstrated high level of computer literacy, with advanced capability in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication skills including interpersonal and influencing skills, with track record of meeting tight deadlines and delivering to promise.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and manage corporate and consolidated budgets and forecasts and providing insights to executive business decisions.
  • Experience in performance reporting that drive accountability and strategic alignment.
  • Exposure to joint venture accounting/operations would be desirable.
