We are currently seeking an experienced Materials Expeditor/Purchasing Analyst to join our team. This is a one - year fixed term full-time position based in Brisbane.

Reporting to the Supply Superintendent you will support Simberi Gold Mine through expediting of goods and services to the site in line with or optimise agreed timelines as well as develop onsite expediting capability and optimise processes.

The opportunity

  • Effective delivery of all agreed goods to internal and external customers at the required standards, on time and to the correct location by establishing effective relationships and proactively participating in the culture of excellent service.
  • Ensuring internal customer service by proactively identifying customer needs and service improvement opportunities and responding quickly to those needs.
  • Maintain monitoring of production and project critical item shipments and report any pending delivery delays to operational management.
  • Providing team training and development through creation of tools, documents, and hands on training.
  • Ensuring that SGCL receives the greatest value from the expediting function by effectively negotiating order delivery, supply terms, and other areas that can deliver value (value in the context of considering ‘Total Lowest Cost to the Business’, risk and production loss/delay).
  • Contributing to a strong governance culture by complying with appropriate governance policies and procedures.
  • Building relationships between suppliers and logistics pertaining to the expediting function.

We would love to hear from you if you have​:

  • Extensive experience in Pronto Inventory Module.
  • Relevant Expediting experience.
  • Diploma or Certificate in Purchasing would be desirable.
  • Can adapt effectively to working alone or within a team.
  • Exceptional communication and training skills, including communicating and training people from different backgrounds and cultures.
  • Excellent vendor relationship building skills.
  • Proven ability to work to tight deadlines on multiple tasks.
  • A high level of enthusiasm for work with high performance goals.
  • Relevant resources industry experience would be an advantage.
