Simberi Gold Company Limited is currently seeking a Supply Supervisor to join our highly engaged and dynamic workforce within our Simberi Operations at Simberi Island in PNG. This is a FIFO position on a 21 days on, 14 days off roster.
The Supply Supervisor is to provide support to Simberi in the functions of Warehousing, Logistics and Purchasing. Reporting to the Supply Superintendent, you will oversee end-to-end supply of all goods to the mine site, by maintaining best practice governance across the supply functions.
Key roles and responsibilities include
Ensuring that the warehousing, logistics and purchasing needs of the Company are met and achieved in a manner compliant with site and corporate supply policies.
Monitoring and reviewing existing policies, procedures and work flows to cover site supply activities.
Reporting, analysing data and monitoring performance of purchasing and warehousing activities on site.
Ensuring customer service by proactively identifying customer needs and service improvement opportunities and responding quickly to those needs.
Contributing to a strong governance culture by complying with appropriate governance policies and procedures. Mentor and develop a strong governance culture within the warehousing team.
Ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of all activities relating to purchasing & warehousing including security of all stored property.
Ensuring minimisation of wasted or damaged material though implementation of pest practice storage methodology.
Ensuring timely and appropriate review and resolution of inventory discrepancies, variances and promptly apply corrective actions.
Managing obsolete stock and coordinate the sale or removal from site as per Simberi’s documented procedures.
Managing cyclic and floor to sheet stocktakes in accordance with Company policy.
Ensuring appropriate classification is assigned to critical spares and ensure relevant min/max levels are reviewed and updated if needed.
Establishing and maintaining relationships with all Simberi external suppliers, contractors and providers.
Liaising with St Barbara Logistics department to maintain seamless support to Simberi site operations.
Reporting, analysing data and monitoring performance of transport of goods to site.
Expediting site purchase orders and report fortnightly to HOD’s.
Ensuring shipment information is updated at Simberi satellite warehouses to ensure current ETA’s are recorded for expediting reports.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience required
At least 5 years relevant experience in the mining, construction or military industry
Strong ability to lead and work effectively with people
High level of enthusiasm for the work with high performance goals for self and team
Commercial acumen relevant to the role
Desirable – Tertiary Qualification in Supply Management
Desirable – International exposure
