We are currently seeking a Manager Mobile Maintenance to join our team. This is a three-year maximum term full time position at our Simberi Operation. Your work location is Papua New Guinea, working a 21/14 FIFO Roster from any Australian capital city.

Reporting to the General Manager Mining you will be responsible for leading and developing maintenance systems and executing long-term strategic plans to support Simberi Safety, Environment, Community and Production requirements.

The opportunity

  • Delivering studies to determine and manage maintenance vulnerabilities/improvements as required.
  • Managing operational and capital budgets.
  • Ensuring that the Maintenance function develops and uses effective plans that derive from and support the operating department and Simberi Operations plans.
  • Managing Asset Management obligations- Maintenance strategies based on baseline reliability principles and life cycle costing.
  • Controlling and managing the budget and cost control.
  • Ensuring timely, accurate reporting of Maintenance function performance to the General Manager and other internal and external parties.
  • Developing and maintaining reports that identify targets and variance to target.
  • Performing root cause analysis on variances to plan.
  • Managing effective use of available resources, including own time, in support of the delivery of the Mobile Maintenance Department deliverables.
  • Contributing to the development of capability within the Mobile Maintenance department. This includes succession identification with detailed development plans for identified employees.
  • Building and developing an effective Mobile Maintenance department and ensuring the work performance of self and direct reports meets all role and business plan requirements.
  • Ensuring own work performance meets all role requirements; and taking appropriate professional development actions.
  • Managing outputs and development of the department and all team members.
  • This role is critical in driving the transition from reactive maintenance practices to a proactive, planned and reliability-focused maintenance function.

We would love to hear from you if you have​:

  • Extensive experience in a similar role in the resources industry.
  • Certificate III Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Technology.
  • Current driver’s license.
  • Exceptional leadership skills.
  • Strong communication skills, including communicating with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines on multiple tasks.
  • Commercial acumen relevant to the role.
  • Able to lead and effect change through stakeholder management and engagement.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise.
  • Experience working in PNG would be highly regarded.
