We are currently seeking a Senior Maintenance Planner to join our team. permanent full-time position at our Simberi Operation. Your work location is Papua New Guinea, working a 21/14 Roster from Kavieng, Rabaul, Port Moresby, Lae, Mt Hagen, Madang, Goroka, Alotau, Wapenamanda, Popondetta, Hoskins, Wewak, Vanimo, or Tabar group of Islands. Reporting to the Superintendent Reliability and Planning - the Senior Maintenance Planner is responsible for responsible for the upkeep of the CMMS, ensuring that all preventive and breakdown maintenance are carried out in a timely and cost-effective manner and ensure all shutdown plans are properly detailed and scheduled with all required critical resources are in place for execution.

The role incumbent and manager will identify and review the specific compliance requirements of the role.
The opportunity
Role Accountabilities
- To analyse and recommend remedial measures to solve the equipment problems in a timely manner to avoid production losses and reduce maintenance costs.
- Schedule and plan daily weekly and shutdown schedules along with all other stakeholders
- Ensure a weekly planning meeting is scheduled and run with all department heads to ensure all works are scheduled to ensure all personal are aware of requirements
- Assist the maintenance Coordinators in daily work schedules
- Daily planning schedules creating work orders ordering parts external and internal.
- Planning shutdowns using Microsoft project ensuring all work orders are closed off with history added.
- Ordering and identifying parts for procurement
- Maintain data in the computerised system and produces regular reports and management information date.
- Check equipment records and review equipment performance to determine state of equipment.
- Discuss with Operations and Maintenance personnel and participate in equipment performance enhancement programs, suggestions to improve reliability and prevent chronic breakdowns.
- Contributes to the preparation of predictive, preventive, modification and major shutdown maintenance program and equipment checklists for all equipment in the plant.
- Follow up of major equipment overhauls.
- Guide, direct, train and motivate subordinates
- Provide technical support in maintaining On-line and Off-line systems software and hardware.
- Actively works in CMMS system to get the equipment overhauls history, PM plans etc.
- Contribute on continuous basis in improving the Planning schedules to achieve Company goals and objectives.
- Carry out other operational tasks as required.

- Promote and adhere to Occupational Health and Safety Policy and Procedures through consistently demonstrating and encouraging safe work practices
- Ensuring own work performance meets all role requirements; and taking appropriate professional development actions.
- Managing outputs and development of the team and all Team Members.
- Interviewing and making recommendations for hiring personnel. Evaluates employee performance, recognizes their achievements, counsels, and disciplines them as necessary. Assists Manager with investigation of written and formal actions.
- Monitors staff to ensure standards of performance are met and that staff comply with all OHSE and SGCL safety policies and procedures. Contributing to the development of capability within the team/crew.
- Review and finalize maintenance plans before it is sent out to other subordinate stakeholders

Essential
- Behaviour consistent with St Barbara’s Values
- Ability to produce a National Police Clearance (valid within the last 3 months) for site access purposes
- Trade or Engineering qualifications.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in Fixed Plant Maintenance equipment.
- Understand relevant Engineering standards and associated procedures.
- Relevant qualifications in the maintenance field.
- Self-motivated with strong communication skills and the ability to effectively manage time.
- A continuous improvement approach to all tasks and developing initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Have extensive field experience and always prepared to accept responsibility
- Supervisory qualifications.
- Two (2) years supervisory experience
